MOHAI — Advertising Campaign
Copywriting | Motion Graphics | Illustration | UI/UX
THE BRIEF
Create an advertising campaign to drive awareness of The Museum of History and Industry’s largest fundraising event — the History Makers Gala.
THE SOLUTION
Catchy copy, “Look at the past, build the future,” coupled with an ordered, deliberate design.

THE APPROACH
Taking stock of where MOHAI was currently with their branding was crucial in determining tone and visual style of the advertisements. I decided to take a look at MOHAI’s role as a teacher, and landed on copy to support that: “Look at the past to build the future.” I used simple vector line art over a navy grid that simulated blueprints, chose a clean, san serif font and created a clear hierarchy with scale and placement on the page. For digital ads, I looked to inventions — flight, for example, Bernoulli's principle led to the Wright Brothers which led to the invention of a 747. Instagram provided a canvas to show these progressively more dramatic discoveries/inventions in an interactive swipe-through ad.
